The McIntyre Iron Furnace is an old steel blast furnace that operated from 1827 to 1857 by the Adirondack Iron Works company. It is located on Upper Works Road in Newcomb, NY, just south of New York’s High Peaks Wilderness. When it was operational, it was run hadronically by Hudson river. Today, the ruins of the blast furnace sit next to the road, slowly being reclaimed by the earth.
